Turmeric is a fantastic spice for our health! It has anti-inflammatory, anticancer, detoxifying, astringent and anti-aging properties. Turmeric should be consumed daily and it can easily be introduced in our daily diet by simply adding it to soups, dressings, sauces, smoothies to enhance their flavor or color. You can also make tea, the famous “golden milk” or use it on your skin and make customized beauty treatments.
Here are some of my favorite uses:
Golden Milk – a soothing way to start your morning. This is how I make it:
• 1 cup non-dairy milk (dairy if you prefer)
• ½ tsp. ground turmeric*
• ¼ tsp. freshly ground black pepper – it helps your body absorb turmeric
• 1 tsp. raw honey/stevia/maple syrup/truvia (or to taste)
• ½ tsp. coconut oil - it also helps your body absorb turmeric
You can get creative and add cinnamon, cardamom or ginger to this milk
Mix all ingredients and heat the mixture until steaming but not boiling. Strain and serve. Enjoy this milk daily and stir occasionally to make sure the turmeric is well mixed in the drink.
Dark circle/dark spot treatment:
Make a thick paste of turmeric, milk and lemon juice. Apply it to the skin where there are black spots. Leave it overnight and then wash it off with lukewarm water in the morning.
Night cream booster:
Add a pinch of turmeric to your night cream and wash it off in the morning. Do it at least twice during the week for smooth, youthful skin.
Heal skin burns: mix turmeric with aloe vera gel/oil and apply to skin. It does miracles to heal your skin really fast.

*buy the best quality turmeric you can find in your area
